What is Fashion’s Night Out?

Fashion’s Night Out is an unprecedented global initiative created in 2009 in a partnership between American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company, and the City of New York to celebrate fashionrestore consumer confidenceboost the industry’s economy, and put the fun back in shopping. Since then, the event has grown exponentially, expanding nationally in 2011 to over 250 cities and globally into 18 countries.

On Sept 6th, 2012, The City of Tulsa will host the city’s 2nd Fashion’s Night Out. Tulsa is celebrating Fashion along with other Cities around the Globe this one, special night.   Three shopping areas will be hosting public special events, trunk shows, showcasing Fall Fashions, staying open late to provide an electric night out and a shopping extravaganza!


10AM – 1:30PM Ticketed Kickoff Event.  Luncheon with Liz Lange at The Mayo Hotel 

Time for Speaker & lunch only? plan 11- 1:00 PM Speaking 11:30. Lunch and show follow.

Join us as we start off the day celebrating Fashion with Designer Liz Lange as Speaker, followed with lunch, a Fall Fashion Show unveiling local participating retailers top picks, Jewelry/furs/apparel and cosmetics lined up for shopping, two design schools battle it out for “best design” contest, Finalists in transformation contest will be revealed and awarded prizes. Door prizes and gifts from Moody’s and Sephora!

Bringing the Designers to you, Tulsa! 

We had a chance to visit with Heather Thomson- Established Fashion Designer, celebrity stylist and newest cast member of the Real Housewives of New York franchise; Heather Thomson is the woman behind the successful Yummie by Heather Thomson brand.  She singlehandedly transformed the global perception of “the shapewear undergarment” and is responsible for revolutionizing the overall shapewear industry with the unique, flattering products in the Yummie family.  With a shaping essential Yummie Tummie collection, ready to wear and denim collections, Yummie by Heather Thomson is truly a lifestyle brand meeting women’s everyday shaping needs. This is what Heather had to say:

1) Do you have plans for FNO and in what City?

I’ll be at Bloomingdale’s 59th Street in NYC to celebrate FNO.  It’s such a fun and exciting night for the fashion industry and the energy is so high all over NYC.  I love being able to interact with my yummie peers and yummie admirers.

2) What inspires you?

So much inspires me.  People, places, history, current events, art, the world.

3) Do you have a Fall Fashion Favorite?

I love to wear leggings in the fall because they’re such a great transition piece.  As the weather starts to change from the summer, you can wear under a spring/summer dress or add a sweater as a layer and you look chic and put together.  I’m launching a new fall collection of Yummie Tummie leggings this August in fun styles, colors and prints – I find myself reaching for them because they are just so versatile.  I wear them for travel, on the weekends running around with my kids and I even wear them to run outside as the weather cools.

4) If you have a snack on your desk what is it?

While I am not a huge snacker, I do like Kind Healthy Snacks.  It is this brand I discovered that includes granola and nut and fruit bars, and it is completely natural.  And, it is so Yummie!
